INFORMATION FOR PARENTS
1. ATTENDANCE:
Parents are reminded to send their children regularly to school. Frequent
absence retards the pupil’s progress. When a child is absent and returns to school, please send a letter indicating the reason for absence. This helps to check truancy.
2. PUNCTUALITY:
School commences at 07:45. Children should be punctual and preferably at school by 07:40 BUT NOT BEFORE 07:30. The school day ends at 13:00 for grade R, 13:30 for grade one and two, 14:00 for grade three ( Monday to Wednesday ) and 13:30 on Thursday and Friday. For grades 4 to 7 the school day ends at 14:00. Allowance has to be made for pupils engaged in extra-curricular activities and for those serving detention.
3. CLEANLINESS:
Regular cleanliness inspections are held at school. An earnest appeal is made to parents to inoculate in their children the value of good health habits and to remember always the importance of ‘A Sound Mind in a Healthy Body’. Always check on your child’s finger nails, handkerchief, underwear, etc. The worst offense is the children’s hair being infested with nits and lice. Defaulters have to be sent home in terms of Departmental Regulations.
4. UNIFORMS:
School uniforms are essential not only because they give the pupils a neat and tidy appearance but also because they enable the pupils to identify the school.
5. SCHOOL FEES:
The fee for the year 2019 is R1980.00 per pupil. An appeal is made to all
parents to assist the school by paying in the contributions preferably in one lump sum. N.B -PLEASE CONTACT THE SCHOOL FOR BANKING DETAILS.
6. LOAN BOOKS:
Some pupils are not giving the necessary care to books in their possession. It is the responsibility of parents to ensure that state property books loaned to their children are well kept and replaced if lost or damaged. Ensure that all books are covered and carried in a school bag.
7. HOMEWORK:
Parents are advised to keep a regular check on this important aspect. Homework is set regularly for all pupils in the Senior Primary grades to help them master the work begun in class.
8. LIBRARY:
Encourage pupils to read widely and wisely. The daily newspaper could provide for lively and fruitful discussions even at the meal table. The municipal library has a wide range of books suitable for your children. These books will help the children to find new interests and will therefore make them more interested in school and the world around them.
9. ROAD SAFETY:
Instruct your children to always use the pavements and to cross streets at robot intersections, where they exist, on their way to and from school.
10. LEAVE:
No child will be granted leave unless the parent calls at school personally for the child.
11. INTERVIEWS:
You are at liberty to discuss the progress of your child with the teacher/s. In this regard please call at the Office to obtain the Principal’s permission.
