It is truly an honor to become part of this special Ridge View community, and our wonderful learners, teachers, and parents. I see a group of learners with magnificent potential, a primary school that can become one of Pietermaritzburg’s best which can become a flourishing epicenter for student and community life. The future is so very bright therefore please allow me to articulate our pathway to this vision.
The first step is to establish Ridge View Primary School as a place of academic excellence. The environment of this school will be a place where learners come to learn, grow, and create. Our teachers will tap into your creative spirit and help you achieve your goals of academic excellence. We will strive to leverage technology into the learning environment of our classrooms,.

The second step is a renewed commitment to student life. Educational research confirms that learners who excel outside the classroom perform better inside the classroom. Moreover, higher education centres namely high schools and universities are looking for well-rounded students who engage in extra and co-curricular activities and community service. In the years to follow, we will strive to uplift sport and other co-curricular activites to enable our school to flourish. Our collective goal is to transform Ridge View Primary School into a place of student life and thus inspired learning inside the classroom.

The final step is student empowerment. I ask learners who I meet and talk with the very same question, “Whose school is this?” Ridge View Primary is your place of learning, it will help determine your future, and thus the school rightfully belongs to you the learners. Your school will become a place where every learner idea is valuable. All our teaching and administrative staff will offer you support and guidance in developing your ideas and making them into a reality. Learners will be empowered to work hard on their ideas to improve our learning environment and school life and thus make their own imprint on this school. Every student at our school is expected to become a leader in his or her own way.
